BMW Motorrad Philippines has issued a recall involving select units of the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure equipped with the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA).

The recall, issued by SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the official distributor of BMW motorcycles in the Philippines, stems from a potential issue with the clutch release lever used in the ASA system. According to the company, an incorrect bolt may have been installed during production, which could lead to unusual noise or affect clutch performance over time.

BMW clarified that the recall applies only to R 1300 GS Adventure motorcycles fitted with the ASA system, and not to all units of the model.

Affected owners will be contacted by authorized BMW Motorrad service centers for inspection and replacement of the concerned component at no cost. Riders may also independently check whether their motorcycle is included by verifying the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the official BMW Motorrad website.

BMW Motorrad PH stressed that the recall is a preventive measure aimed at ensuring rider safety and maintaining the reliability and performance standards of its flagship adventure motorcycle.
