From Sci-Fi to Street: Hubless Electric Motorcycle 'Verge TS Pro' Upgraded for 2026

The second-gen 2026 Verge TS Pro looks like a sci-fi concept bike, but it’s very real, complete with a hubless rear wheel and a bold, futuristic design!

Verge TS Pro

In a motorcycle world dominated by adventure bikes, retro roadsters, and budget commuters, the Verge TS Pro continues to look like it arrived from the future. With its hubless rear wheel, bold design, and electric drivetrain integrated directly into the wheel, Verge’s second-generation TS Pro remains one of the most radical production motorcycles on the market.

Originally entering production in 2023, the TS Pro has now been heavily revised for the 2026 model year. Unveiled at EICMA in Milan, the updated bike brings a significantly lighter motor, improved rider interface, and a reworked battery system. UK customer deliveries are expected to begin in Q2 2026.

Verge TS Pro

At the heart of the TS Pro is Verge’s signature hubless rear wheel, now powered by the new Donut Motor 2.0. While peak output remains unchanged at 102kW (136.8bhp) and a staggering claimed 738 lb.ft of torque, the new motor is said to be 50% lighter and more compact than before. The unit weighs around 21 kg and is fully integrated into the rear wheel, eliminating the need for a chain, belt, hub, or spokes. This setup reduces mechanical losses and cuts down on routine maintenance.

The Donut Motor 2.0 uses a fully electromagnetic design, with the stator mounted to the swingarm and the rotor spinning around it. Power is delivered directly to the wheel through magnetic forces, with seals in place to protect the bearings from dirt and water. According to Verge, extensive computer-aided engineering and thermal simulations were key to achieving the weight reduction while maintaining performance. The new motor also features a carbon fiber rotor and an aluminium stator to better manage the immense torque output.

Powering the system is a newly developed 20.2 kWh battery, which Verge claims can deliver up to 217 miles of range. Fast charging takes under 35 minutes, while a 15-minute top-up can add roughly 60 miles of range, depending on riding style. The battery pack has been completely redesigned with new modules, updated electronics, and improved thermal management.

One major improvement addresses a common EV concern: battery drain while parked. Verge has introduced a new low-voltage system that manages “sleep stages” when the bike isn’t in use, preventing the slow energy loss seen in earlier models.

The rider interface has also been upgraded. The 2026 TS Pro features a dual-screen layout, with a traditional display ahead of the handlebars and a second tablet-style screen where the fuel tank would normally sit. Riders get more detailed charging data, and the bike supports over-the-air software updates.

Chassis figures remain aggressive yet accessible, with a 780mm seat height, 1,607mm wheelbase, and a claimed weight of 230 kg. Buyers can choose between Öhlins or Wilbers suspension, depending on preference.

Priced from £31,980 (around ₱2.5m) in the UK, the Verge TS Pro remains a premium electric motorcycle. With a lighter motor, smarter electronics, and a renewed push for test rides beyond London, Verge is betting that its second-generation TS Pro will convert more curious onlookers into committed riders in 2026.
