KTM 160 Duke With TFT Display Launched in India

KTM 160 Duke gets a TFT display upgrade, borrowed straight from the 390 Duke!

The highly competitive 150–160cc motorcycle segment just got more exciting, as KTM has introduced a new top-spec variant of the Duke 160, giving it a much-needed feature boost. Launched only a few months ago in India, the Duke 160 is already receiving a significant upgrade aimed at keeping it ahead of rivals like the Yamaha MT-15.

Originally introduced as the replacement for the 125 Duke and positioned as the entry point to the Duke lineup, the 160 Duke stood out for its performance but lagged slightly in features. While Yamaha quickly updated the MT-15 with a TFT display, KTM initially equipped the 160 Duke with a basic LCD instrument cluster to keep costs down. That gap has now been addressed.

The new top-spec Duke 160 comes equipped with a full-color TFT display, borrowed directly from the larger Duke 390. This makes the Duke 160 the most feature-rich option in its class, with a larger 5-inch, high-resolution screen offering sharper graphics compared to the MT-15’s 4.2-inch TFT unit.

The TFT display supports Bluetooth connectivity and KTM’s mobile app, enabling music control, call notifications, and turn-by-turn navigation. The familiar 4-way switchgear, similar to the Duke 390, remains in place, ensuring seamless control of the new interface.

KTM 160 Duke Pricing and Variants

The new top-spec KTM 160 Duke is priced at ₹1.79 lakh, which converts to approximately ₱120,000. The standard variant, which continues to utilize the basic LCD, remains available at ₹1.71 lakh, or approximately ₱114,500. That’s a price difference of roughly ₱4,500–₱5,000, making the TFT upgrade relatively affordable.

When compared to the Yamaha MT-15 TFT variant, the 160 Duke costs about ₹13,000 more, or roughly ₱8,700, but justifies the premium with a larger, more advanced display and stronger overall performance.

No Mechanical Changes, and That’s Fine!

Apart from the upgraded display and updated switchgear, the Duke 160 remains mechanically unchanged. Given that it’s already the most powerful motorcycle in its segment, this decision makes sense and keeps the focus on value-added features rather than unnecessary revisions.

With the addition of the TFT display, the KTM 160 Duke now feels like a complete package, combining strong performance, premium features, and competitive pricing. This upgrade firmly strengthens KTM’s position in the 160cc segment and makes the Duke 160 an even more compelling choice for riders looking for a sporty, tech-packed street bike.
