KTM has locked in leadership continuity as Pierer Mobility AG (soon to be renamed Bajaj Mobility AG) and KTM AG confirmed that CEO Gottfried Neumeister has signed a new contract extending his tenure until December 31, 2028.

The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for the Austrian motorcycle brand, which appears to be emerging from the most challenging chapter of its recent financial crisis. Following Bajaj’s takeover of KTM in November, the company has begun stabilizing after months of uncertainty.
Neumeister officially took over as CEO of both Pierer Mobility AG and KTM AG on January 23, 2025, fully replacing longtime executive Stefan Pierer. Prior to that, he served as co-CEO starting September 1, 2024. His original contract was set to run until August 2026, but the new agreement extends his leadership by more than two years.
Since stepping into the top role, Neumeister has played a crucial part in steering KTM through turbulent times. In late 2024, the company entered self-administration, implemented significant workforce reductions, and temporarily halted motorcycle production twice. KTM also faced a major financial hurdle when creditors approved a restructuring plan tied to a reported €548 million liability.
While the road ahead remains uncertain, KTM has already adjusted its product roadmap, with several models originally planned for a 2025 release now pushed to 2026.

Commenting on his renewed mandate, Neumeister expressed confidence in KTM’s future and outlined his priorities moving forward:
“I greatly appreciate the trust placed in me. Together with my new colleagues on the Executive Board, I would like to put KTM back on a clear growth path and strengthen the long-term trust of our partners, customers, dealers, and suppliers.”
He added that the focus will be on simplifying operations and sharpening KTM’s commitment to the motorcycle market. To fully dedicate himself to the brand’s restructuring and recovery, Neumeister also confirmed he will step down from all roles outside the Bajaj Group in the near future.
With leadership stability now secured through 2028, KTM is positioning itself for a fresh start, one aimed at regaining momentum and rebuilding confidence across the global motorcycle industry.
