LTO Extends Vehicle Registration, Driver’s License Validity to October 15

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced an extension of the validity of motor vehicle registrations and driver’s licenses that expired on September 30, moving the deadline to October 15, 2025.

LTO Extends Vehicle Registration

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II confirmed that a memorandum was issued to all Regional Directors and District Office heads to implement the extension. Motorists affected by the adjustment will not incur penalties or surcharges during the grace period.

“This is in consideration of the cancellations of government work caused by heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon and Typhoons Nando, Opong, and Paulo, as well as the devastating earthquake that struck Cebu,” Mendoza said.

He emphasized that the move is in line with the directive to provide relief and assistance to citizens affected by natural calamities.

Aside from registration and license renewals, the LTO also extended the 15-day settlement period for Traffic Apprehension Cases, originally effective September 26, to October 15.

With this move, the agency assures affected motorists that they will have sufficient time to process their transactions without added financial burden.
