Honda Vietnam has officially launched the all-new Honda Winner R 150, the successor to the Winner X, which has been on the market since 2016.

With a slightly new design, a powerful engine, and advanced technologies, the Winner R is positioned as a “street warrior,” inspired by Honda’s top super sport motorcycles. The “R” in its name (Racing) highlights its spirit of speed, breakthrough, and determination.

The Winner R’s styling draws clear inspiration from the CBR1000RR-R, particularly in its headlights and body panels, while the taillight design also takes cues from the CBR family. Honda notes that the new design emphasizes aerodynamics for a smoother, faster riding experience.

Key design updates include LED headlights with Crystal Light technology, which improve brightness, especially at night. Beyond styling and colors, much of the equipment from the Winner X carries over, including the LCD digital display, telescopic front fork, and ABS.

Powering the Winner R is the same 150cc DOHC 4-valve, 6-speed single-cylinder engine from its predecessor, optimized with an ideal valve opening angle for smooth, decisive acceleration. It also features an Assist & Slipper Clutch, usually found in larger motorcycles, allowing smoother gear changes, reducing wheel lock during sudden downshifts, and improving stability in corners.

Honda has retained key components like the balancer, which reduces engine vibration and noise for a smoother ride. In addition, the PGM-FI engine on the Winner R is optimized with a series of friction-reducing technologies, including an eccentric cylinder and a molybdenum-coated piston skirt, striking a balance between strong performance and fuel efficiency. An upgraded ignition coil further enhances throttle response and acceleration.

Modern features remain a highlight, with Smart Key available across all three versions, a durable O-Ring chain, and a waterproof USB Type-A charging port (included in the Special and Sport variants). Both the Sport and Special versions are also equipped with front-wheel ABS for better braking control at high speeds or on slippery surfaces.

The Honda Winner R will go on sale in Vietnam starting September 23, 2025. However, there’s still no word on whether this model will be released in the Philippine market; most likely, it won’t.
