Great news for motorists, especially for our fellow big bike riders, traveling from San Pedro, Laguna to Metro Manila can now save up to 45 minutes of travel time, thanks to the newly opened San Pedro Northbound Entry-Exit Interchange along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), which officially opened to the public on Friday, August 1.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the opening of the new toll interchange out of San Pedro to ease traffic congestion and improve travel time for motorists.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said the project will serve as a convenience for commuters, and it aims to address heavy traffic.

“The president is focusing on the convenience of our motorists. That’s why this Build Better More. This is the whole point of it—to make the lives of commuters and motorists easier,” said Secretary Dizon.

Secretary Dizon also thanked Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan, the local government of Laguna, and private operator San Miguel Corp. Tollways for the quick completion of the project.

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) noted in a separate statement that the new interchange was implemented by its regional office in Calabarzon and the Laguna 2nd District Engineering Office via multi-year contracts since 2018.

An estimated 5,000 to 10,000 motorists are expected to benefit from the new toll exit, saving travel time by eliminating the need to detour through the Southwoods northbound exit to get to Manila.
