Triumph Introduces Flat Track-Inspired Tracker 400 for 2026

Triumph is pushing its 400cc Modern Classics lineup in a bold new direction with the reveal of the 2026 Triumph Tracker 400, a motorcycle that blends classic British design with unmistakable track-racing DNA.

At first glance, the Tracker 400 stands apart from its siblings. Inspired by oval-track racers, it wears a stripped-back, purposeful silhouette highlighted by a tracker-style fuel tank, wide handlebars, a compact windscreen, and a color-matched seat cowl. Spoked wheels wrapped in Pirelli MT60 RS dual-purpose tires complete the dirt-track look, hinting at both street performance and playful versatility. Despite the race-inspired styling, Triumph’s signature details remain intact, including the round LED headlight, machined cooling fins, powder-coated engine covers, and twin upswept exhaust silencers.

Triumph is offering the Tracker 400 in three eye-catching, race-themed colorways: Aluminum Silver Gloss with Racing Red accents, Racing Yellow with Phantom Black, and Phantom Black paired with Dark Silver and white highlights. Each scheme features bold Tracker graphics, racing stripes with a subtle mud-splatter effect, and a number-board-style side panel proudly displaying “400.”

Compared to the Speed 400, the Tracker 400 adopts a noticeably more aggressive riding position. The handlebars are wider and set lower, while the footpegs are positioned higher and further rearward. This setup creates a sporty, forward-leaning stance that mirrors flat-track ergonomics. Seat height is listed at 31.6 inches, making it approachable for a wide range of riders.

Powering the Tracker 400 is a revised version of Triumph’s TR-series single-cylinder engine. With a new camshaft profile and updated engine tuning, output increases by five percent. The engine now delivers 41 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, while torque remains at 27 lb-ft, with 80 percent available from as low as 3,000 rpm. A higher rev limit, ride-by-wire throttle, and revised mapping promise stronger top-end performance and sharper throttle response. A six-speed gearbox comes standard.

The chassis is exclusive to the Tracker 400, featuring a 43mm upside-down big-piston fork with 5.5 inches of travel and a rear gas monoshock offering 5.1 inches of travel with preload adjustment. Braking is handled by a four-piston radial-mounted front caliper, supported by switchable traction control and ABS.

Instrumentation keeps things tastefully retro with a single-dial analogue speedometer paired with a digital tachometer, balancing classic aesthetics with modern usability. A torque-assist clutch and neatly integrated wiring further enhance the bike’s clean, minimalist appearance.

Pricing and availability have yet to be announced, but the 2026 Triumph Tracker 400 is already shaping up to be one of the most character-filled entries in the small-displacement modern classic segment.
