The Manila Police District (MPD) just got a serious upgrade to its ride. Thanks to a donation from the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), the MPD now has 30 brand-new Yamaha NMAX scooters added to its fleet.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso personally received the donation from FFCCCII President Victor Lim and other officials. The plan? To spread the scooters across different MPD precincts so cops can patrol more areas and cut down response times, especially in hotspots where “riding-in-tandem” crimes often happen.

Anyone who rides in Manila knows how bad traffic can get, and that goes for police cars too. With the NMAX, officers now have the speed and agility to weave through congestion, chase down suspects, and respond faster to emergencies.

“Itong mga NMAX ay ilalaan natin sa Manila Police District. Kaya sa mga nagra-riding in tandem, mas mabilis na ang motorsiklo ng pulis kaysa sa inyo. Sana huwag na nilang gawin dito sa Maynila. Your Manila Police District is ready,” Mayor Isko said.
The mayor also thanked FFCCCII and the private sector for stepping in to help keep Manila’s streets safer. For riders, it’s a familiar truth: sometimes the right bike makes all the difference.
