Limited Edition Aprilia RSV4 X-GP Unveiled at Catalunya Grand Prix

Meet the Aprilia RSV4 X-GP, a 238 hp limited-edition superbike with cutting-edge aerodynamics straight from the RS-GP.

Limited Edition Aprilia RSV4 X-GP

To celebrate a decade of RS-GP racing in MotoGP, Aprilia has unveiled the RSV4 X-GP, a limited-edition superbike boasting MotoGP-inspired aerodynamics and an eye-watering 238 horsepower. Only 30 units will be built, each priced at €90,000 or around 6 million pesos.

MotoGP-Inspired Design

Revealed at the Catalunya Grand Prix, the RSV4 X-GP continues Aprilia’s exclusive “X” project lineup, following the RSV4 X (2019), Tuono X (2020), RSV4 X Trenta (2022), and RSV4 X ex3ma (2024). Like its predecessors, the X-GP bridges the gap between MotoGP prototypes and production machines.

The bike inherits advanced aerodynamic features directly from Aprilia’s 2025 RS-GP race bike. These include front fairing wings, tail fins, and unique under-seat “leg wings.” According to Aprilia, these elements significantly improve stability during braking, cornering, and high-speed straights. The side fairing also integrates airflow channels designed to boost downforce while leaned over. Aprilia claims the X-GP delivers five times more vertical load on straights and triple the load in corners compared to the standard RSV4.

All bodywork is crafted from lightweight carbon fiber by PAN Compositi, which also builds fairings for the RS-GP25. The carbon subframe uses a “sandwich structure” technique, maximizing rigidity while keeping the weight down.

Engine and Performance

At its core, the RSV4 X-GP runs a heavily tuned version of Aprilia’s 1,099cc V4 engine, with SBK racing specifications. The output is rated at a staggering 238 hp at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 11,750 rpm, both of which are higher than the RSV4 Factory 1100.

These figures are achieved through dedicated tuning, including a higher compression ratio, a Sprint Filter high-permeability racing air filter, dedicated intake trumpets, and a titanium SC Project exhaust system with twin pipes and compensator, along with an STM dry clutch.

Electronics and Chassis

The superbike comes equipped with Aprilia Racing’s APX ECU, derived from its World Superbike program. The ECU allows precise customization of power delivery, traction control, wheelie control, and engine braking, with gear-specific calibrations for track optimization.

The chassis features an aluminium dual-beam frame paired with fully adjustable Öhlins suspension. Brembo supplies GP4 MS monoblock calipers with Z04 pads and 330mm T Drive discs, while the rear caliper receives nickel plating. Race-ready Marchesini forged magnesium wheels are wrapped in Pirelli WSBK-spec slicks.

Race-Bred Details

Beyond performance numbers, the RSV4 X-GP emphasizes exclusivity and authenticity. From its MotoGP-inspired aerodynamics to its carbon construction and ECU mapping, the bike offers riders a genuine taste of MotoGP engineering, albeit in an extremely limited package.

RSV4 X-GP

“With the RSV4 X-GP, we wanted to take another step forward in our project of placing the most advanced technology in the hands of our customers... It is a bike truly born out of MotoGP DNA.” says Fabiano Sterlacchini, technical director of Aprilia Racing.

RSV4 X-GP

The RSV4 X-GP isn’t just a motorcycle, it’s an experience, offering amateurs a taste of the same raw sensations that only the world’s best riders usually feel.
