LTO: F*** U Sign Equivalent to Road Rage

LTO suspends SUV driver’s license for ‘dirty finger’ during road rage.

LTO suspends SUV driver’s license for ‘dirty finger’ during road rage.

Flashing a dirty finger is widely recognized as a sign of anger and frustration, often seen during heated encounters on the road. However, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has made it clear that such aggressive behavior will not be tolerated, as it is considered a form of road rage.

The reminder came after a viral video showed the driver of a Toyota Prado allegedly cutting into a lane and flashing a dirty finger toward another motorist.

Using the vehicle’s plate number, the LTO issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) to the driver, who is also the registered owner, and was directed to appear before the agency’s Intelligence and Investigation Division in Quezon City.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said the driver must explain why he should not be held liable for reckless driving and why his license should not be suspended or revoked. Pending the investigation, the driver faces a 90-day preventive suspension, while the SUV has been placed under alarm to block any official transactions.

Transport Secretary Vince Dizon supported the LTO’s action, stressing that road discipline is essential.

“Rude and undisciplined motorists have no place on the road,” Dizon said.
